Pleasantville Community School District is seeking to fill the following anticipated vacancies for the 2024-2025 school year:

• Secondary Special Education Associates

You can make a difference in the life of a child by providing academic and behavioral assistance for special education students.

 

Responsibilities may include:

• Assisting students with their academic learning, facilitating appropriate classroom behavior, and the development of communication skills; 
• Supporting teachers in meeting the needs of students in the special education or general education classroom;
• Supporting academic instruction with individual and/or small groups of students and supervising students during other components of the school day.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with students with special needs, but will train the right candidate. The candidate should have the ability to be flexible, patient, and empathetic. Communication and the ability to work well with others is important. The position may require the ability to bend, lift, and walk longer distances.
